To acquire a certification to practice as a nurse aide in Florida, you need to pass the certified nursing assistant (CNA) exam administered by a testing service company contracted by Florida’s Department of Health. You do not need to complete a state-approved training program to take the Florida CNA exam. However, you will be required to attend a state-approved training program if you fail the exam three (3) times. Comprehensive Health Education has a 30 year record of preparing candidates for both the written & clinical parts of the certification exam. If you are 18 years or older you do not need High School, GED or any previous training or experience. The written portion of the certification test is given in English, Spanish and Audio as desired.rnWhat Is A Certified Nursing Assistant?rnIf you have an active CNA certification from another state, you are not required to take the Florida CNA exam. However, Florida does FBI background checks before approving giving you a certification. You are required to submit fingerprints for screening.rnEmployment of nursing assistants is projected to grow 21 percent from 2012 to 2022, faster than the average for all occupations.
