Charles County Department of Social Services Project Home/ CARE Program
Do you want to become a Certified Adult Residential Environment (C.A.R.E) Provider?
The C.A.R.E./Project Home program provides housing for mentally, physically and/or medically vulnerable adults who need supervision/ assistance with adult daily living needs and are unable to reside independently.
The Charles County Department of Social Services is actively recruiting county residents to become C.A.R.E/ Project Home providers. All providers must be certified by the local department of social services Project Home Case Manager. A provider must be 21 years of age or older who is living in the home where care will be provided, and has the willingness to assist a non-relative adult with a disability. A provider must also have sufficient income to meet their household expenses without relying on the Project Home reimbursement stipend.
The reimbursement stipend is disbursed to the provider for the care of the resident, and is used for reimbursement of room and board, and purchasing of medical items, clothing and personal items. The stipend amount is based on the level of care system established by the Project Home program. Reimbursement stipends are not considered taxable.
If you and/or someone you know are interested in becoming a C.A.R.E/ Project Home Provider, please contact the Charles County Department of Social Services at 301-392-6724 and request to speak to the Project Home Case Manager.
