The lecturer Stacy Stube made all the mistakes possible with building her own brand Elsa Fitzgerald, but she could not have moved her business forward without them. It takes going through the process to get good at it. No one journey or strategy is the same for everyone, but there are many useful tips that were gained after working in product development for 3-years in Bali, Indonesia and now as Head of Innovation for the last remaining apparel manufacturer from the original Baltimore Garment Industry.
Stacy is very passionate about reviving what is left of the garment industry. This opportunity can be found in cultivating and empowering the small fashion business looking to keep manufacturing onshore.
This Fashion Entrepreneurship Course will be held at the Bromo Clock Tower in Baltimore, Maryland where Stacy has her Fashion Design studio. She has published two fashion books internationally and is currently working on two different plays in the Baltimore Theatre district.
Included in the course the students will receive the digital PDF Book called: Strategic Fashion Entrepreneurship for Digital Start-ups by Stacy Stube. This book will be covered in the course in a great degree of detail, students will have a chance to ask questions and move through the material in a practical way for small business growth.
Fashion Business Weekend - was created by Stacy after spending so many years working in the fashion industry and not feeling that the education could keep up with the industry changes. Stacy spent 7-years in London working for Alexander McQueen in the Press Office, Burberry London at their Flagship, Temperley London in the Production Office. Her last role was Head of Retail for Heidi Klein. In 2013, she moved to Bali Indonesia with just two suitcases and built the fashion label Elsa Fitzgerald.
Upon returning to the University of Baltimore for a second Masters in Nonprofit Management & Social Entrepreneurship, Stacy began hosting workshops and events in Fashion Entrepreneurship through the Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. Due to the rapid rise of the events in size, Stacy began to launch small course groups with no more than 20 people. That way the students and entrepreneurs could effectively strategically plan their next moves.
