LED Tube Light Vs Fluorescent Tube Light: What’s Better?
I remember growing up with fluorescent tube lights. The 70s, 80s and the 90s were the periods when fluorescent tube lights were a huge hit in the market and people had already said ‘goodbye’ to the halogen and the incandescent bulbs. These tube lights had already begun to be used in factories, warehouses, railway stations, hospitals, schools, retail shops, gas stations, offices and homes and almost everywhere. And, not so long after, it was CFL which took over the fluorescent tubes with markets for fluorescent tubes exchanging hands with markets for CFLs. And, finally a call for LED lighting products. To name one, LED tube light. So, if you think about it, we have indeed gone through an immense technology change in the arena of lighting.
So, what’s so special about LED tube light that a fluorescent tube light didn’t have?
An LED tube light, first of all, doesn’t flicker, unlike the fluorescent tubes which were a major problem to deal with. The light that is produced by LED tube light is crisp and bright while being completely glare-free. An LED tube light of 18W-22W of 4-foot size can easily replace a fluorescent tube light of 40W-60W. A longer lifespan, instant start, energy-savings, a variety in lens type (clear and frosted), aluminum heat sink, mercury/UV/IR--free light, easy installation option -- are all that you get when choosing to buy an LED tube light.
And, the best part of an LED tube light is either its quality of being compatible with the ballast or if incompatible, to work without a ballast. To make installation easy for you, an LED tube light is available in two forms -- one, in a ballast bypass option and another, in a hybrid tube option.
