Vintage Yamanaka Trinket Box Made In Japan

This is a lovely, vintage, 1950, Yamanaka plastic black lacquerware trinket box. It is black on the outside and inside. It features white and black floral displays with gold outlined leaves; also, there are scrolling patterns, and solid gold colored rocks. The lid of the trinket box is accented by a red/rust color speckled design with black detailing.

The trinket box measures approximately 2" tall including the lid, and 1 1/2” tall without the lid and 5" in diameter. I acquired this piece as part of an estate that I have been charged with liquidating. It is in excellent condition with no scratches nor nicks; however, there is a minor blemish within the gold scrolling in one area of the lid, but this is not noticeable, and adds to the vintage character of the piece. Other than this, the paint color is bright and vibrant. The underside of the box bears the mark, “Made In Japan, Yamanaka”. This would make an exquisite piece to add to the decor of your home; a lovely Japanese box for all your trinkets!!!!
