Casa Imports is currently looking for Class A Depot Drivers
Position Summary:
Driver will pick up loaded truck from loading depot and transport, deliver and unload company products from trailer to assigned customer locations meeting all company and statutory requirements for the transport of food products within a four-state delivery region. Driver will also pick-up products from various customer locations as needed and return to designated loading depot. The driver is also responsible for collecting cash and maintaining accurate records for COD customers, receiving and regulatory compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (This list is a summary of the essential job duties assigned to this position. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.)
• Pick up loaded trucks of company products from loading depot for delivery to assigned customer locations. Review route sheets, customer orders, delivery instructions and product package sheets etc. to ensure complete orders are included and available for customer delivery.
• Transport customer products throughout assigned route locations meeting the company and statutory regulations for safe and efficient driving and delivery services.
• Load and unload goods at customer locations and deliver to designated staging location ensuring food storage and safety requirements are met.
• Match customer orders to product loads and packing slips and ensure customers receive only previously ordered products. Collect COD payments and issue customer receipts as required.
• Reconcile any order discrepancies at customer location and collect any product overages or make arrangements for future delivery of product shortages. Communicate with office location as required to meet customer needs.
• Transport any unused or non-customer products to loading depot location and assist in reconciling company records for any returned products.
• Create and or maintain accurate records for DOT requirements and or company or customer pick up or delivery records.
• Perform related duties as required to meet company and or department location.
Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED.
• At time of hire, must have and maintain throughout employment a valid Class A CDL license equivalent to equipment driven, as well as a DOT Medical Card.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Ability to receive, count and record cash transactions and comply with company policy for the receipt and safeguarding of cash.
• Ability to read product specifications and accurately count and deliver products to meet customer orders.
• Ability to interact with diverse customers and represent the company in a positive and professional manner to customers and outside parties.
• Physical activity and effort is required to load and unload products and transport products on handcarts while at customer locations and or at the company warehouse.
• The employee must meet the DOT substance testing and drug free work requirements at time of hire and throughout the period of employment.
Equipment, Machines and Software Used:
Ability to operate a telephone, photocopier, fax machine, and calculator as required. Ability to use a variety of hand and or power transport devises to move products from one location to another.
Mental and Physical Requirements:
Close mental and visual attention required to operate a commercial vehicle on public roads.
The physical requirements of this position call for the ability to exert in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel, and perform repetitive motions of hands and/or wrists.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions. The individual is regularly exposed to extreme heat, extreme cold, potential for physical injury, and fumes, strong odors or airborne particles. The noise level making deliveries at customer locations may be loud.
