Power Foreman - Temporary Power Installation

Job Summary
Lead a two or more person crew in the proper installation, service and repair of temporary power equipment at our customer’s sites. Remove equipment at job completion.
Essential Functions
Work with and handle electrical equipment weighing as much as 300 pounds.
Inspect truck before and after scheduled trips. Keep truck clean and organized.
Understand all aspects of electrical power.
Read and use map book effectively.
Communicate with Dispatcher and site superintendents.
Know local utility company requirements, including electrical codes and specs, for the proper installation of power poles to be energized and inspected by municipal department or private utility company.
Ensures the safe and efficient operation of company tools and equipment. Maintains all equipment and tools in good condition.
Champions both general and specific safety instructions and directives and ensures strict compliance at all levels. Responsible for stopping team from working on any energized (HOT) electrical lines, circuits or equipment.
Complete and submit both bi-weekly Driver and Production Tailgate Topics.
Carry heavy poles and other equipment with Helper.
Train Helpers.
Maintain clean and safe work area.
Perform other duties and/or tasks as requested or assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
No formal supervisory responsibilities. Acts as a lead person on job site to direct work of Power Helper.

Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or General Education Development certificate (GED), or one to two years related experience or training.
Skills and Abilities
Requires regular contact both inside and outside the company at all organizational levels.
Requires tactfulness, discretion and persuasion.
Requires making frequent decisions and the planning and performance of usual or difficult work. Assignments require general guidance in planning, scheduling and arranging.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedural manuals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram formats. Licenses/Certificates/Registrations
Must have a valid driver’s license with a Motor Vehicle Record within company guidelines. Because this position may be required to drive a company vehicle, incumbent must be at least 21 years old.
DOT medical card may be required to be able to drive a company vehicle with a GVWR of 10,000 lbs. or more.
