Alzheimer's Family Center is Orange County's only adult day health care facility dedicated exclusively to caring for dementia patients. POSITION OVERVIEW:
This is a full-time (30 hours per week) position w/ benefits.
AFC is one of the few adult day health care centers in Orange County that prepares and serves meals straight from the center's onsite commercial kitchen. The Meal Coordinator Assistant works closely with AFC's Meal Coordinator to ensure quality, nutritious meals are served on a daily basis to participants attending day services. Individuals taking on this role will have the experience of learning the special accommodations needed to meet the nutritional needs of older adults with dementia (i.e., consistency, textures and types of food) while ensuring compliance with Title 22 regulations and the California Department of Education's Adult Day Care Food Program. This position is responsible for keeping the dining room clean by wiping down tables and mopping after lunch service. Additionally, this position will share custodial duties with our full-time custodian such as emptying trash recepticles, vacuuming, cleaning/sanitizing restrooms, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a motivated individual, who is able to work independently. Nutritional background is not necessary; however, an interest in nutrition and knowledge of the nutritional needs of the elderly would be helpful. This individua must be available to work Wednesday evenings and Saturdays.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Experience working in a health care setting is preferred.
