It is the policy of Harte-Hanks Shoppers ("The PennySaver") doing business as "The PennySaver," and "PennySaverUSA.com" to honor consumer requests not to be contacted by telephone for marketing purposes. This includes its honoring "Do Not Call" regulations issued pursuant to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, the Federal Trade Commission's Telemarketing Sales Rule, applicable state telemarketing laws and the Direct Marketing Association's (the DMA) guidelines for telephone marketing.
As part of its efforts to honor consumer requests not to be called at home, The PennySaver regularly obtains copies of the National Do Not Call Registry, which incorporates some of the relevant state do not call lists, and the Direct Marketing Association's Telephone Preference Service list. Prior to The PennySaver's contacting a consumer for marketing purposes, where the consumer does not have an existing business relationship with The PennySaver, has not given The PennySaver express permission to contact the consumer or has not made a recent inquiry to The PennySaver, The PennySaver will determine if the consumer's phone number is on such lists. If the phone number appears on any of these lists, then The PennySaver will not contact that person by telephone.
Additionally, The PennySaver takes steps to honor all consumers' direct requests not to be contacted by telephone. If during any telephone conversation, a consumer requests PennySaver not to contact him or her by telephone, The PennySaver telephone sales representative (TSR) will record that consumer's request not to be contacted by telephone. The PennySaver maintains for at least five years a list of individual telephone numbers of consumers who have made such requests. Prior to The PennySaver's contacting an individual for marketing purposes, The PennySaver will determine if that person's phone number is on this internal do-not-call list. If the phone number is on this list, then The PennySaver will not contact that person by telephone.
All of The PennySaver's TSRs have been trained in the "Do Not Call" procedure and are under continuous supervision to ensure that The PennySaver's policy is adhered to in response to all "Do Not Call" requests.
In the event during a call that a consumer makes a request to receive a written copy of The PennySaver's "Do Not Call" policy, the consumer will be asked if he or she has Internet access where the consumer may be directed to a Web address where the policy is posted. Otherwise, the TSR will ask for the consumer's address, and a copy of this policy will be sent to the consumer within five (5) business days.
It is not the intention of The PennySaver to disturb or to solicit any consumer once he or she has made a request to be removed from its calling list.
If a consumer desires to add his or her residential telephone number to the National DNC Registry, he or she should go to https://telemarketing.donotcall.gov or call 1 (888) 382-1222.
