Ladies Spiritual Uplift International

In 1978, sensing many ladies in her congregation and the surrounding areas were experiencing the pressures life had to offer, the Lord impressed Idella Knowles with the idea of a weekend for the ladies of the Church of God of Prophecy in Districts One and Two to come together for a time of spiritual renewal and refreshing. This event was held at Camp Owassa Bauer in South Florida so that the ladies would be free from their everyday surroundings and responsibilities and have an opportunity to be alone with God. rnrnLadies came broken, battered, bruised, depressed, despondent, feeling alone, unloved and some came not knowing Christ as their personal Savior. But as the weekend unfolded, with workshops, seminars, small prayer groups, personal counseling and power packed worship services, God ministered to the needs of everyone who attended. Ladies are delivered and set free, UPLIFTED and ready to face the challenges awaiting them. The Ladies Spiritual Uplift became an annual event and the attendance began to grow as the word spread to the other districts. Within three years, the campground became too small for this event and to accommodate our ladies across the State of Florida, it was necessary to convene in many of our finest hotels and resorts. During Ladies Spiritual Uplift, ministry opportunity is available for all stages of a woman’s life. Over the years, Ladies Spiritual Uplift has moved from just an event to become a ministry. We now invite our young ladies to attend and be blessed, because of the challenges they face, we felt the need to address them now rather than wait until they reach the age of 18. So ladies from age 13 on up are welcomed to take a part in this time of spiritual feasting.
