This classic campground offers many opportunities to visit natural, historic and man-made attractions in the area. Go hiking near waterfalls. Whitewater Falls, the highest series of falls east of the Rockies, offers easy viewing and access. Stumphouse Tunnel is a "cool" place to visit, especially in summer. If golf is your thing, a cart is a necessity at challenging local courses. Clemson University is just 15 minutes away. The historic Fort Hill (home of John C. Calhoun) and the lovely campus are worth a visit. Also located on University property is the South Carolina Botanical Garden and Bob Campbell Geology Museum. Stop by the museum to see rocks that glow! At Walhalla State Fish Hatchery, see and learn about local species. Or rent a pontoon boat on nearby Lake Hartwell and catch your own supper. Greenville is just 30 minutes away, with great restaurants and festivals. The campground is a quiet place to relax, perhaps near the seasonal swimming pool. Stop by the game room or play mini golf.
