It has a flat frame, with all wiring and components placed beneath, plus crafted holes that minimize, and hopefully eliminate, needed welding. Powered by a 6.4L V8 Heavy Duty HEMI engine, available trims on the 5500 depend on whether you are purchasing the 2-door Regular Cab or the 4-door Crew Cab. The regular cab offers the Tradesman and SLT trims, and with the Crew Cab you can buy the Tradesman, SLT or Laramie. The economical Tradesman is the choice for budget conscious shoppers who need the function and capability Ram can offer without the desire for the luxury of higher trims. The mid-range SLT adds a unique grille, more chrome, carpeted floor and cloth seats, among other conveniences, plus an option to get the available 6-ring instrument cluster.
