10th Annual Saratoga Arts Celebration - August 18 & 19 at the Dance Museum
SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY, August 18 & 19– Come get inspired and Enjoy the Visual and performing Arts at the 10th Annual Saratoga Arts Celebration at the National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame, taking place on Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19 from 10 am to 5 pm, rain or shine. Currently the festival is ranked nationally as one of top Fine Art Festivals in the country by artists in both Sunshine Artist Magazine and The ArtFair Sourcebook. Taking honors in its 10th year, the Saratoga Arts Celebration shares its success with the artists it represents. “These exhibiting artists are some of the top award winning “A” listers and creatives in the country” says Sue Brown Gordon, The Festivals Director. Working with these amazing artists brings me such inspiration and motivation to make the Saratoga Arts Celebration the best Arts event possible”.
Now celebrating its’ tenth anniversary, the festival started with the support of the Swyer family who originally founded the National Museum of Dance. A chance conversation with a patron at an event in Connecticut, landed the special partnership between the Museum and the festival organizer. “Susan Earle, of the Swyer family, asked me when I would start a festival in Saratoga.
When I told her there was only one place I could envision it happening, I had no idea I was telling someone who had a direct personal link to the Dance Museum and the rest is divine intervention.” Ten years later, we have a beautiful Art Festival, in fact we now have two there. One in August, the 18th and 19th and the second one, the Holiday Art Fair, November 10 and 11.
A juried event featuring more than 75 artists selected locally and from across the country, the Arts Celebration offers a selection of paintings, photography, drawings, prints, sculptures, mixed media, jewelry, ceramics, fiber, metal and glass pieces that are original works and available for collecting in every price point. The artists are there to elaborate on their creative process and share their own stories. There are ongoing art demonstrations all weekend.
Held at the picturesque National Museum of Dance in Saratoga Springs State Park, exhibitors will display their work on the great lawn and inside the museum’s beautiful galleries – an extraordinary backdrop for this visual feast. Visitors will be able to browse and buy from a wide variety of artists. The Festival includes live musical and dance performances on both days, as well as free arts activities and demonstrations for children and adults, plus a variety of catered food temptations from Fitzy’s Fork ranging from gourmet food to homemade desserts. Sunday, August 19, features a Farmers Market next door as well, to enjoy. And it all happens rain or shine, under tents. The Museum exhibits are also open for visitors to enjoy as they stroll the grounds and the galleries.
Admission to the Saratoga Arts Celebration is free. There is ample free parking. The Dance Museum, located at 99 S. Broadway is easy to reach via Exit 13N on I-87
