Sounds from the Streets was what Santana called their music back in 1967. Sounds from the Streets reflected the world around them: the struggles, the joys, the sorrows, the passion, etc. It was the marketing people who used the term Latin Rock to define their sound.rnSounds from the Streets is a tribute to Santana as well as a fundraiser for Milagro Foundation which benefits undeserved and vulnerable children around the world. This foundation was started by Carlos Santana and his family. There will be a short PowerPoint presentation outlining the era (1960's) and the location (the Mission District of San Francisco) presented by CSM Ethnic Studies professor, Rudy Ramirez.
