Ad Submission Specifications Part 1

The following specifications are for customers and outside agencies who wish to submit their own prebuilt ads for publication, also referred to as “camera ready” artwork.

General Information

Agencies must provide digital, “print ready” artwork per PennySaver ad sizes specifications.

File Format

PennySaver accepts “press ready” PDF files. Artwork must be ready to digitize for plating, with correct color channels for specific job type. No RGB files nor CMYK text. Fonts must be outline/embedded.

Text

Fonts: ALL fonts used must be embedded within the PDF, we do not accept outside fonts.
Do not use process colors on text 12 pt. or less, including reverse type. We reserve the right to convert text to black to maintain print quality.

Images

Graphics: ALL images/photos must be enclosed. All images must be saved as EPS files. JPG and PDF are also acceptable but must be “print ready” at 300 DPI, at 100% of image size.

Color Cut For ROP: 4-Color Process ROP Ad - Must be cut with process colors, no spot colors, no RGB colors nor CMYK text.

Color Cut For PAD: 4 Color Process PAD - Must be cut with process colors, no spot colors, no RGB colors and no text on all four channels.

Spot Color PAD Ad: Use spot colors only

Photos/Effects: Black and white or color photos should be set with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Limit the use of special effects and blends as system variables may alter output from desired state.

Display ROP Ads

Color Palette: Display ads may be 4-color process or Black plus Cyan. All 4-color Display ads must use process colors! No spot colors and no RGB colors nor CMYK text.
