Puppy Kindergarten will be starting 3/25 at 6 P.M. depending on enrollment. From birth to approximately 12-weeks of age, your puppy's brain is a veritable sponge, soaking up life lessons and habits that will form the foundation of her personality and long-term habits. Kosobucki Championship McNabs Puppy Kindergarten program focuses on the urgent life skills a puppy needs to learn to become a safe and stellar dog. The curriculum is designed to coincide with your pup's natural development deadlines to address common, yet often unwanted, puppy behavior and teach you how to best sculpt your puppy into the ideal companion.rnrnRequirementsrnAge: 8-12 weeks old when starting Puppy KindergartenrnIf your puppy is younger than 8 weeks or hasn't arrived yet, you are welcome to enroll in this series without your pup to learn how to start your puppy off on the right paw from day one. Once your puppy is the right age rnVaccine: First DHLPP or DHPP vaccine (specifically Distemper and Parvo) at least 5 days before the first session. rnParticipants must have read http://www.dogstardaily.com/training/you-get-your-puppy prior to the first class. It is highly suggested to read the AFTER You Get Your Puppy book as well. It is available at the public library.rnIssues addressedrnrnHousehold Training: House Training, Chewing, Barking, and Home Alone Problems (Separation Anxiety)rnTeaching your pup to accept and enjoy times when you'll have to be away.rnTeaching your pup to focus on chewing appropriate chew toys and leave your stuff alone.rnTeaching your dog how to accept a crate or other short-term confinement areas.rnTeaching your pup your house rules.rnTeaching your pup not to guard valued objects or the food bowl.rnTemperament Training: Puppy Biting and Handling rnTeaching your pup to be very gentle with humans and other dogs.rnTeaching your pup to enjoy being caught, held, handled and groomed.rnTeaching your pup to accept veterinary and husbandry protocols with confidence.rnTeaching your pup basic frustration tolerance, how to be a cool customer.rnManners & Safety Training: Puppy Obedience Training, Manners, and Impulse Control rnTeaching "Sit" for polite greetings.rnBoundary Training: teaching your dog to pause and wait to be released at doorways, in cars, at curbs.rnTeaching your pup impulse control and how to settle down and chill out.rnTeaching you how to play properly and productively with your pup.
