GRAND OPENING for the new Saint Vincent de paul thrift store
In the bustling Lake Worth Road and Military Trail area a new style of thrift boutique has been quietly taking shape. St. Vincent de Paul recently opened its doors to a new store located at 3757 S. Military Trail, Lake Worth FL33463.
Shoppers with a passion for thrifting will find their perfect place to visit in the Lake Worth/Greenacres area. The well lit and styled store presents top brands, collectables and furniture in the open concept space. Offering good pricing and generous sales, a friendly and welcoming staff, the store is now open for business. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday 10am-5pm and Saturday 10 am-4pm.
The public is invited to join in the grand celebration along with Lisa M. Rivera, City of Green Acres’ Councilwoman, District I on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at noon for the ribbon cutting ceremony. The thrifts stores are just one of the many programs of the St. Vincent de Paul Society. The Society has been the quiet voice for the less fortunate in the community for over 50 years. The Society offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis by visiting the needy in their homes and in their environment. This approach allows the organization to better understand those needs and provide the highest respect for the dignity of the poor.
Funds from the thrifts stores, including the one recently opened in Jupiter, FL, will help to provide additional income to support their mission of helping with food, financial assistance for utilities, rent, gasoline, etc. depending on the need of the individual and the availability of financial resources.
Both stores contribute clothing overages to several needed programs through the north, south and western areas of the county on a weekly basis.
The Society operates a bi-weekly food distribution program which distributes over 800 cases of food monthly. The food is picked up from a distribution center of a large grocery chain and transported to the Society’s Riveria Beach warehouse where it is sorted and repacked. It is then distributed in support of local St. Vincent De Paul conferences, churches, soup kitchens, and food pantries in Palm Beach county.
The Saint Vincent de Paul Society does this work with the help of the community. Volunteers and donations are always welcome to help in the organization’s mission of serving the poor. Those interested should contact:
