Dr Medina was born in Budapest, Hungary, and grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He speaks English, Spanish and Hungarian fluently.
He attended the University of Buenos Aires Medical School where he graduated with Honors in 1977 and then completed his internship and residency in Philadelphia, at Graduate Hospital, affiliated with University of Pennsylvania. Dr.Medina also completed a Fellowship in Invasive-Interventional Cardiology at the Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia.

Dr. Medina is a Board Certified Cardiologist with over 30 years experience
He has been practicing in Tampa, Florida, since 1984 and has been in the same Practice since 1994

Dr. Medina has been affiliated with Pepin Heart Center at Florida Hospital in Tampa, where he has held numerous leadership positions, including Head of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory
He has been one of the busiest Interventional Cardiologists at Pepin Heart Center throughout his tenure.
Dr. Medina has held Faculty positions at the University of South Florida School of Medicine
He is active in clinical research, participated in many published national research projects, some as lead investigator. His medical research has included published review articles and chapter in prestigious journals, books and other texts.
