Donostia, an authentic Spanish Basque pintxo (tapas) bar, is currently accepting applications for kitchen staff. Donostia has already garnered much praise for our authentic, exciting cuisine, which is based on the food and wine culture of the culinary capital of Spain, San Sebastian. Our consulting chef, Agustin Elbert, has been living and working in San Sebastian (aka Donostia) for the past fourteen years. He brings with him a wealth of passion and experience, including stints at some of the best pintxo bars and some Michelin three-star restaurants such as Akelarre and Arzak.
We are putting together an amazing team and are looking for talented and passionate cooks to help create unique and authentic Spanish dishes. Candidates must have a genuine passion for putting out consistently excellent plates, working as part of a team, and providing an exceptional customer experience. Currently, we are only open for dinner. Part-time kitchen staff position will require flexible hours, typically 30-35 hours per week, including nights and weekends. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Food preparation, assembly and cooking (use of fryer, griddle, stove, and convection oven)
• Proper food handling and storage
• Daily cleaning and maintenance of kitchen space and all equipment
• Receiving deliveries
• Culinary degree or extensive real-world experience (minimum of one-year experience)
• Valid Food Handler's certification
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to take direction well and work in fast-paced environment
• Must be able to stand for duration of shift
• Must be able to lift and carry minimum of 40 lbs.
